Dodgers 2018 Season: Energy, Excitement, & Private Cars to Get You There!

This with the opening day around the corner, Dodgers fans are getting excited about supporting the blue and the prospect of the team making it to the World Series.

The Dodgers are set to play a total of 28 games by the end of April 2018. Fifteen of these games will be at home, and that’s why here at L.A. Private Car Service we have been washing, and waxing our fleet of cars, vacuuming the interiors and getting ready to whisk baseball fans to the games, here in Los Angeles.

In L.A. 10 of the first 28 games will be played against teams that made the playoffs a year ago: that’s seven games against Arizona and three against Washington.

This year the 2018 MLB Season is slated to start and that’s due to a new rule in collective bargaining, because in recent years Baseball has benefited from big revenues, TV ratings, and increases in almost every channel of business in the league. Forbes reported a record revenues bump in the tune of $500 million in 2015, and fast approaching the $10 billion mark and above. The MLB minimum salary will see an increase from $507,500 in 2016 to $545,000 in 2018, and up to $555,000 in 2019. Revenue-sharing will see a few minor adjustments. The number of (market disqualified) Clubs will be go down from 15 to 13, with Oakland phased-out over four years which began in 2017. The disability time is being reduced from 15 days to 10 days.

The deal also added more off days for the team. Therefore, the Dodgers will have five off days off in April: the 5th, 9th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.

In addition, to avoid weather problems (rainouts) the Dodgers have traditionally stuck with the Pacific Time Zone until mid April and this year they will actually follow the practice until mid May, which will arrive during game #41, on May 15, as they face Miami.

Speaking of the games, let’s get back to the schedule. Get the full 2018 schedule.

On Thursday, March 29, the Dodgers will open the season, here at home, with a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants. It is a rare treat since (during a rare regular-season) both teams will have their number one, number two, three and four starters all line up perfectly.

Catcher/First Baseman Buster Posey is expected to deliver in a big way, but San Francisco too counting on rebound seasons from Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Hunter Pence, Joe Panik, Mark Melancon, Johnny Cueto, and Jeff Samardzija, adding suspense and excitement to each game.

This is not the time to sit back. It is time to think about winning. The Dodgers have not won the World Series since 1988. Last year, they won 104 games and scored baseball’s best record but that didn’t get the world Series. This year, the Dodgers will bring back most of their roster and a rotation and up and down the lineup. This move can be helpful in case they face injuries and slumps. The team’s first baseman Cody Bellinger and shortstop Corey Seager should energize the team and its game while outfielder Chris Taylor aims for a solid season, doing his part as a dependable player.

It’s easy to see that it is crucial for you, the fans, to put your full support behind the Dodgers. This means making it to the home games in style and comfort you deserve. After all, you want to spend your time cheering your favorite team and focus on the game and not on the heavy traffic, the stress of making it to the stadium on time, especially during our famous and challenging rush hour. L.A. Private Car Service is the remedy to that headache. With one call, our courteous, helpful staff will help you book a beautiful car, navigated by our skilled and road-savvy drivers. The rest of the journey will be seeing the pride of Los Angeles, the Dodgers score big and (fingers crossed) go all the way to the World Series. L.A. Private Car Service wants help you hit the road for the journey, right here in Los Angeles.

Delta’s Changes To LAX

Delta Airlines has moved forward in changing the façade and face of LAX.  The airlines has taken steps in a $1.9 billion plan to modernize, upgrade, and connect Terminals 2 and 3 with Bradley Terminal at LAX over the next seven years.  The new space is said to provide all the amenities that Delta’s customers have come to expect at LAX, including a private Delta One check-in lounge, new Delta Sky Clubs, fast check-in for Delta Shuttle services, and an integrated in-line baggage system. The facility will offer convenient passenger flows, sufficient gate-area seating, and a world-class concession program.  According to Delta’s website, customers are going to spend less time in traffic as their gate is closer to the airport entrance.  Those clients coming into LAX will be able to move quickly to their destinations as there will be less wait time for gates.  The change also allows Delta to operate alongside many of its airline partners, including Aeromexico, Virgin Atlantic, and Virgin Australia. Later, a secure connection to TBIT will enable seamless access to additional partners, including Air France-KLM, Alitalia, China Eastern, and China Southern.

Here are the immediate changes that are coming.  On the evenings of May 12, May14 and May 16, a third of the 70 airlines that operate out of LAX will relocate.

We are working diligently with all our drivers in providing them with up to date information with all the changes coming thru.  Los Angeles World Airports said that the affected airlines are as followed:

Air Canada (moving from Terminal 2 to Terminal 6)

Allegiant (T3 to T5, T6 check-in)

Avianca (T2 to Bradley, T3 check-in)

Boutique Air (T3 to T6)

John Legend Live! Greek Theater, Los Angeles

Singer John Legend is on fire.  When he is not on stage performing live or recording new music, he is lending his voice and name to various creative projects. Yet it is on stage, up close and personal, when fans get the full scope of the man’s big talent and electric stage presence.

Bringing it all the way to the Oscars, the singer, song writer, added “actor” to his impressive resume in 2016, by appearing in a sizeable role opposite Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, in Damien Chazelle’s critically acclaimed musical La La Land.

It was just announced that Legend will also voice and produce a virtual reality series “Rainbow Crow” starring as the title character. The production will have its debut at Tribeca Film Festival this month of April. “A lot of the attraction to the project was being involved with a new technology that’s just emerging as a new medium for creative talent,” Legend said in an interview. Inspired by Native American folklore, “Rainbow Crow” is about a bird “with the most dazzling plumage and mellifluous voice, who, after the planet turns dark and cold, must journey far from home to bring light back to the world.” Says Legend: “It’s about love. It’s about inclusion. It’s about community.”

The singer will also lend his famous voice to creating 7 Inches, for a Planned Parenthood campaign, with other artists such as Bon Iver, Björk and the Foo Fighters. The initiative will bring numerous artists to create 7″ records, and donate proceeds to help Planned Parenthood. The American healthcare organization receives $500 million in federal funding annually (according to the New York Times), but now is faced with defunding under President Donald Trump’s administration.

If you have not seen John Legend thrill audiences live, it is time to treat yourself to an evening of music and showmanship, and to see this true American original in concert.

Here at L.A. Private Car Service we know how to get you closer to this experience, in comfort and style.

Chauffeured Service to SAG Awards 2017

January pushes ahead, during this exciting Awards Season, in Los Angeles. And now, all the talented people working front of the camera, in film and Television, set their eyes on the SAG Awards. By now, the Golden Globe Awards have been handed out, and the nods and trophies from that event might have given direction to what films critics and voting members in other ceremonies should pay attention to. Some believe that major award ceremonies, held earlier in the season, indirectly influence the outcome of other upcoming awards, and hopefully help direct the attention to great performances, in films and TV productions worthy of recognition.

The Screen Actors Guild Award (also known as the SAG Award) is presented by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) honoring outstanding performances in film and prime time television. The trophy is a statuette, known as “The Actor,” is a male figure (nude, apparently, symbolizing the bare naked nature of the performance by actors and actresses as they perform without restrictions, from the heart and the soul). The figure is holding, both, a mask of comedy and a mask of tragedy, the two original genres of films, and plays. It is 16 inches (41 cm) tall, weighs over 12 pounds (5.4 kg), is cast in solid bronze.

When it comes to impressive performances, our hard working team at L.A. Private Car Service does their very best in accommodating celebrities, nominees and the distinguished members of the industry. Our skilled chauffeurs zip to and from all red carpet events and industry related functions safely and expertly. The SAG Awards have been one of the massive celebrations to which we have delivered VIP passengers, and continue to do so each year.

Check out our fleet of executive cars.

The inaugural SAG Awards aired live on February 25, 1995 from Stage 12, at the Universal Studios. The second SAG awards aired live from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, but after that, the ceremony has been held at the Shrine Exposition Hall, in Downtown, Los Angeles.

Like all glamorous industry events, the SAG Awards encourage actors and actresses to shine and express their sense of style and fashion. Therefore, TV viewers expect to see dazzling fashion and matching jewelry. The men have a sense of freedom. While being a classy, black-tie event, it is not strictly a tuxedo affair. Therefore actors can show up in more interesting choices.

Gearing up for the event, the chauffeurs and the team of L.A. Private Car Service have all the expertise for the job. Each year, we receive calls to help deliver guests and talented nominees to the SAG Awards and other important Hollywood events. Our knowledgeable, courteous staff is ready to book the order and take the hassle and stress of “getting there” off your plate.

Let our competent, professional chauffeurs drive you to Shrine Auditorium or other venues, safely and punctually while you relax and prepare for the festivities ahead.

You should enjoy thinking about your favorite nominated actors. Will it be Casey Affleck in “Manchester by the Sea,” Ryan Gosling in “La La Land,” Andrew Garfield in “Hacksaw Ridge?” And we name a few.

From the wonderful actresses, who should take home The Actor trophy? How about Emma Stone in “La La Land,” or Natalie Portman in “Jackie,” Amy Adams in “Arrival,” Emily Blunt in “The Girl on a Train,” or the queen bee who has been getting lots of media attention lately, Meryl Streep, in “Florence Foster Jenkins?”

These can be the predictions you make, sitting comfortably in the back seat of our stylish cars, while your chauffeur navigates the city.

So, please don’t wait, go ahead and book your chauffeured vehicle online, and do it now. Leaving it to the “week of” can often leave you without a proper transportation to such glitzy events where what you arrive in is as important as who you are wearing.
