Rideshare apps solved a real problem — getting a car fast. They did not solve the problems that matter when the trip matters: price certainty, a driver you can rely on, and someone to call when things go wrong. Here is what you get when you book a car service instead.
1. The price is the price
A private car service quotes a flat rate before you confirm. It does not change because it rained, because a concert let out, or because your flight landed at the same time as four others. Rideshare pricing at LAX now also carries a $6 airport fee per trip, rising to $12 once the SkyLink train opens — and that is before surge.
2. You know who is picking you up
You receive the chauffeur’s name, phone, vehicle and plate before the pickup. The chauffeur is an employee or long-term contractor of a licensed company — background-checked, drug-tested, driving a commercially insured, PUC-permitted vehicle. Not a stranger matched by an algorithm ninety seconds ago.
3. Airport pickups actually work
We track your flight and time the pickup to the real arrival. Delayed two hours? The chauffeur is there at the new time and there is no waiting charge. At LAX a licensed car service meets you at the terminal curb or inside baggage claim; rideshare riders walk or shuttle to the LAX-it lot.

7. It is often not more expensive
For an LAX run from the Westside at a busy hour, a surge-priced rideshare in a large vehicle regularly costs more than our flat rate for an Escalade. For groups, one Sprinter is almost always cheaper than three rideshares. The gap people assume is largely a leftover from the stretch-limo era.
When rideshare is still the right call: short, low-stakes trips where a ten-minute wait and a variable price do not matter. For airports, events, clients and anything with a hard deadline, book the car.
