Every year with the announcement of the Golden Globes nominees, things get quite serious in the city we call L.A.

Organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) the Golden Globe Awards recognize excellence in film and Television, both domestic and foreign. Trophies are handed out in 16 categories for motion pictures and 11 for Television.
Traditionally, the ceremony takes place on a Sunday in January – this year on the 10th of the month. The Live telecast reaches 167 countries worldwide, each recent year hosted by top celebrities such as Ricky Gervais, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
