“Executive car service” gets used loosely. Here is what it actually means when you book it from a licensed operator in Los Angeles — and what you should expect to get for the money.
The definition
An executive chauffeured car service is ground transportation built for business travel: a late-model luxury sedan or SUV, a professional chauffeur, a flat rate agreed in advance, and a dispatch office that answers the phone. The customer is usually a company, an executive assistant or a traveler on a corporate account, and the priority is predictability — the car is where it should be, when it should be, without anyone thinking about it.
What is included
The vehicle
Mercedes-Benz E-Class or S-Class sedan, Cadillac Escalade ESV, or a Chevrolet Suburban for larger parties. Black, clean, current-year or close to it, with water and phone charging on board.
The chauffeur
Suit, discretion, and no conversation unless you start one. Background-checked, drug-tested, PUC-enrolled. Knows LA traffic well enough to leave early when it matters.
The office
24/7 dispatch, flight tracking on every airport pickup, text confirmations with the chauffeur’s name and plate, and one invoice per month if you are on a corporate account.
Executive service vs. rideshare vs. limo
- Rideshare is on-demand and cheap until it isn’t. Surge pricing, a personal vehicle, a driver you have never met, and at LAX a walk to the remote lot. Fine for a Tuesday lunch; not for a board member landing at 11 p.m.
- Stretch limousine is an event vehicle. Executives rarely want to arrive at a client’s office in one.
- Executive car service is the middle that most business travel actually needs: quiet, on time, invoiced, forgettable in the best way.
How Los Angeles companies use it
- Airport transfers — LAX, Burbank, John Wayne, Van Nuys and private aviation FBOs, in either direction, flat-rated. See the LAX car service page for rates.
- Roadshows and site visits — a chauffeur held for the day, moving a team between meetings across Century City, downtown and Santa Monica without anyone parking.
- Client and candidate pickups — the first impression of your company is often the car you send.
- Executive commutes — standing daily or weekly bookings for senior staff who work in the car.
- Events — award shows, galas, and game-day hospitality at SoFi, Crypto.com Arena or Dodger Stadium.
Corporate accounts. Monthly invoicing, a dedicated booking contact, priority dispatch and negotiated rates for regular volume. Set up a corporate account or call (213) 471-2828.
What to ask before you book anyone
- Is the operator TCP-licensed by the California PUC, with commercial insurance? (Ours: TCP 28595-A and TCP 33826-A.)
- Is the rate flat, and does it include tolls, airport fees and gratuity, or are those extra?
- Do they track flights and waive waiting time for delays?
- Will you get the chauffeur’s name and vehicle before the pickup?
- Is there a live dispatcher at 2 a.m.?
If the answer to any of those is a shrug, it is not an executive car service.
Executive car service questions
What does executive car service mean?
Chauffeured ground transportation for business travel: a luxury sedan or SUV, a professional vetted chauffeur, a flat rate agreed in advance, and 24/7 dispatch with flight tracking. It is the standard for corporate airport transfers, roadshows and client pickups.
How is executive car service different from a limo?
A limo is typically a stretch vehicle used for events. Executive car service uses black sedans and SUVs designed for business travel, priced flat and invoiced to a corporate account.
Do you offer corporate accounts in Los Angeles?
Yes. Corporate accounts get monthly invoicing, a dedicated booking contact, priority dispatch and volume rates. Call (213) 471-2828 or use the corporate accounts page.
Are your rates flat or by the hour?
Airport transfers and point-to-point trips are flat-rated. Chauffeur-for-the-day bookings are hourly with a minimum. Either way the price is confirmed before the trip.
