When Los Angeles rolls out the red carpet to celebrate its biggest and brightest showbiz stars, it does it in a massive coordinated style. Here, in this city, we even have a name for it. It’s called the Awards Season.  Industry professionals, talent managers, agents, publicists, along with millions of fans catch what can only be described as a high-energy, celebratory fever. They all begin stressing over timing, placement, the where, the what, and who of these events.  Serious thought and attention is spent on featuring top celebrity nominees, performers and guests in the best light possible, from the red carpet to the gala, and in some cases, up the main stage to pick up the big prize.

The Grammys are one of the biggest events during this festive time in L.A. Think of it as the Oscars of the music industry. It is glamorous, highly anticipated, and prestigious. Heck, there is even a Grammy Museum in downtown, so the year round worship of music’s biggest names continues, and the chance to see the gold trophies an up close and personal experience.

Originally called Gramophone Award or Grammy, is an accolade by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. Taking place on February 15th, this year, the glamorous affair positions itself in the middle of the Awards Season, where all the important trophy givin’ takes place all over the city of angels.

Yes, it’s an honor just to be nominated, so much so that during the 2015 ceremony, that Fairness Patrol of the award shows known as Kanye West rushed the stage, in defense of R&B diva Beyonce. Beck, the real winner, invited the attention-loving rap superstar back on stage, to perhaps allow him a chance to express his frustration.

Like most award shows the Grammys are no stranger to controversy. And every year fans and journalists add to the list of memorable Grammy moments. The 2012 Cowboy’s Farewell with Glen Campbell honored by Blake Shelton performing “Gentle on My Mind” and “Rhinestone Cowboy” with The Band Perry. Who can forget Pink’s aerial gymnastics as she belted out “Glitter in the Air,” or the legendary Tina Turner with Beyoncé, performing “Proud Mary?”
